A speech delivered by Austrian Ambassador to China, H.E. Mrs. Irene Giner-Reichl, at the 14th Anniversary Ceremony of Home and Abroad News Press

      女士们、先生们，晚上好！
      Ladies and gentlemen, friends, good evening, everyone!

      首先我想诚挚的感谢这样的邀请，在此我想对中国中外新闻社的14周年生日献上诚挚的祝福，对韦燕女士以及她的团队献上最真诚的感谢。
      First of all, I would like to sincerely thank for this wonderful invitation, I would like to express my sincere birthday wishes to Home and Abroad News Press for its 14th anniversary and my gratitude for Mrs. Wei Yan and her team.

      奥地利和中国的关系一直以来都是非常良好的。两国之间的高层互访奠定了两国之间的良好发展，2011年时任中国国家副主席习近平率领中国代表团访问了奥地利，今年奥地利总统会来到中国进行一个高层的国事访问。去年11月奥地利总统、各位部长以及150位商业界、企业界的人士来到了中国，给双边带来了非常好的契机，现在两国的合作非常的亲密、广阔。众所周知奥地利也是欧盟的一个成员国，所以奥地利不仅仅只推动奥地利与中国之间的关系，也在推动中国与欧盟各国之间关系的发展。奥地利这个国家对水利、城市管理、现代化的基础建设都有非常好的经验，大家也都知道，奥地利是以音乐而著名的。奥地利有很多高科技的公司，在各个领域都有非常强的技术背景。奥地利也是一个以出口为主导的国家，每10欧元的经济产量至少有6欧元是通过出口换取的。习近平最近也提出了“一带一路”的主导思想，因为这样的一个契机，奥地利通过对基础建设以及对很多很多领域的发展，让中国企业有机会进入到欧盟的市场，我们也会不遗余力的把这样的好事促成。
      Austria and China have very good relationship. High-level visits between the two countries have laid a good foundation for the bilateral relations. President Xi Jinping led the Chinese delegation to visit Austria in 2011 and Austrian President will come to China for a high-level state visit. Also in last November, Austrian President, Austrian ministers and 150 business delegation members visited China to explore great opportunities here. Both countries now enjoy a very closer partnership with each other. Austria is also a well-known member of the EU; therefore, we will not only promote relations between Austria and China, but also promote the healthy relationship between China and the EU countries. Austria has advanced technology and experiences in water conservancy, urban management, modernizing infrastructure. We all know that Austria is also famous for music. Austria has many high-tech companies with strong technical background in various fields. Austria is an export-oriented country. At least 6 Euros of every 10 Euros in Austria's economic output is made through exports. President Xi Jinping recently proposed "One Belt and One Road Initiatives" concept. Because of this great opportunity, Austria can share its advanced technology in the infrastructure construction and other sectors with China so that Chinese companies have more access to the EU market, we will contribute more efforts to make sure this model become real in the near future.

      奥地利总统海因茨·菲舍尔将于本月26日至30日对中国进行国事访问，并会见习近平主席，奥地利总统也会来到中奥国际论坛与各国的首脑做一个良好的互动与切磋。访问期间中奥将签署约20个合作协议，包括企业合作和高等院校合作等。作为奥地利共和国驻华大使，这个星期我会非常的忙碌，今天我不能够陪伴你们整个晚上，在此我首先表示道歉。
      Austrian President Heinz Fischer will pay a state visit to China between July 26th and 30th, and he will meet with President Xi Jinping in Beijing. The president will also attend the China and Austria International Forum to communicate and interact with other countries' leaders and representatives. During his visit, more than 20 cooperation agreements will be signed between China and Austria, including business collaboration and higher education cooperation. As the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to China, I will be very busy this week. I sincerely apologize first to all guests here tonight because I cannot accompany you throughout the celebration evening.
